Mother's Day Treat

The children in Year 1 have been busy preparing for their Mother's Day Concert learning poems and songs. They carefully written an invitation for the day and this was sent home with them. Here is a photo where the class is proudly presenting their invites.

A little fun was had by all on our last day before half-term by exercising our fine-motor skills in shaving foam alongside a tune. Letting our hands 'dance' to the music in coordinating strokes and circles are helping our finger muscles to improve our handwriting.

Here you can see Year 1 pupils eagerly waiting at their prepared table.

We all thought it to be nice to let Mr. Marshalsay join in on his last day with us in school. We wish him good luck for the future.

As you can see there are lots of busy hands at work and everybody is concentrating very hard!

I think this table had a very good amount of foam 'at hand'!

Smiles all around!

Foam-tastic!
I think we should do that again!

Paws, Claws and Whiskers

We have learnt lots about cats through our new topic.

Lots of fun learning about animals in our 'Pet Shop'.

We learnt about the food cats like to eat.

In P.E we moved around obstacles like cats.

Phoebe brought her cats on for us to see. We had lots of fun stroking and cuddling Mars and Sprite. We learnt about a cats body parts.

In R.E we listened to the story of Jairus' Daughter. Then acted it out.

We made cat mobiles, drew pictures of cats and brought in photographs of our own pets.
